Its every cricketers dream, to play at Lords, the home of cricket.

It is full of tradition and anyone who walks through the Long Room or the Museum will be struck by the tremendous history preserved at Lords.

But Lords is also a thriving, modern cricket venue. It is the place where young cricketers come to learn their trade in one of the most up to date coaching centres in the world.

The facilities for the massive international cricket crowds are second to none; the new press centre, so instantly recognisable at the Nursery End, is arguably the best in the world; and the ground itself guarantees top class cricket.

Lords in the 21st Century is a brand new programme which celebrates the great traditions of Lords, the MCC and cricket while looking at the developments that maintain Lords as the 21st centurys most important centre of world cricket.

Celebrities and players alike give their views on Lords, from Ian Botham, Shane Warne and Brian Lara to Michael Palin and Barry Norman; go behind the scenes with players, coaches, the groundsman, Mick Hunt, and even the resident artist, Karen Neale, to discover what makes Lords a centre of excellence; follow the MCC touring sides round the world and the MCC womens team spreading the cricket message; and all this is set around the first Ashes test at Lords during the summer of 2005, the start of the most eagerly awaited test series, probably in history.

Lords and the MCC are creating a brand new set of traditions for the 21st century.
